See you next year! Save the date - Saturday, May 16, 2015

The 8th Annual OTR 5k Run/Walk took place on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a summer celebration party until 4 p.m. in Washington Park with many of our OTR friends: The City Flea kicked off their season, NECCO had activities and a race for the kids, Art on Vine was there, we had great live music on two stages, food, and Rhinegeist beer, and arts organizations participating as well. We had record numbers all around -- THANK YOU to everyone who made this possible!

About the OTR 5k Run/Walk

The OTR 5k Run/Walk and Summer Celebration began in 2007 with a group of friends, residents of Over-the-Rhine and members of the Over-the-Rhine Chamber of Commerce, as a way to invite Cincinnatians to see the Renaissance that was beginning in the neighborhood. The 5k Run/Walk started and finished on Vine Street followed by a daylong celebration on the corner of 12th and Vine. Only a handful of new businesses were on Vine Street 8 years ago. Today, there are more than 90 new businesses in Over-the-Rhine and the surrounding areas.

What is the city but the people? ~William Shakespeare

The mission of the Over-the-Rhine Chamber of Commerce is to represent our members by promoting economic vitality and fostering a socially and culturally diverse Over-the-Rhine Community. The OTR Chamber stays responsive to the needs of members and the community.

As part of the recent renewal of Over-the-Rhine, the Chamber has also been responsible for creating signature events such as the Malice Ball, Annual Star Awards, Second Sunday on Main, and the OTR 5K Run/Walk, bringing thousands of new visitors, and potential shoppers to the neighborhood and the central business district. In addition, the Chamber launched the first ever Holiday Campaign, “See, Shop and Dine”, promoting Over-the-Rhine as the city’s most unique shopping destination for the holidays.
